Please register early! We make our preliminary decisions to run a class one week before the class begins.

Attendance/Admission Policy: Children three and under must be accompanied by an adult unless otherwise specified in the class or workshop description. All educational programs include admission to the Village for the class participant.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: There are no refunds for three-hour workshops. If you withdraw 14 days before a class begins, you will receive a full refund less a $10 registration fee; 13 to seven days before, you will receive a 50% refund less a $10 registration fee; less than seven days before, no refund. If a class is canceled for any reason, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

Preschool Winter Discovery
Tuesday, January 10, 17, 24 & 31, 1:30 p.m.—3:30 p.m.
The Village becomes a winter wonderland for your preschooler as we explore a different theme each week with wintery crafts, stories, and games. This unique preschool age class offers a dynamic classroom setting that encourages social development. Ages 3–5.
$48 members/$58 nonmembers.

Homeschool Science Club
Session 1: Veterinary Science
Tuesday, January 10, 17, 24, 31, 10 a.m.—noon
Explore the world of veterinary medicine, including parts of a cell, pet first aid and diagnosis of diseases. After learning basic veterinary methods, spend the final week diagnosing a mystery illness. $48 members/$58 nonmembers per monthly session (receive a 10% discount when signing up for more than one session).

Homeschool Science Club
Session 2: Marine Explorer
Tuesday, February 7, 14, 21, 28, 10 a.m.—noon
Examine the delicate marine food web and discover how our choices can affect our environment. Discover the unusual anatomy of marine life through squid dissection and learn a traditional Japanese art form using fish. $48 members/$58 nonmembers per monthly session (receive a 10% discount when signing up for more than one session).

Be My Valentine
Thursday, February 9, 10 a.m.—noon
Preschoolers will explore the sights, sounds and textures of Valentine’s Day as they craft cards, learn friendship songs and enjoy stories about sharing and caring. Ages 3–5. $14 members/$27 nonmembers.

It's Raining, It's Pouring!
Tuesday, February 21, 10 a.m.—noon
Splish-n-splash through stories, songs, and crafts while learning about water and weather. Ages 3–5. $14 members, $27 nonmembers.

Playshops

Winter Playshop: Art for the Birds
Thursday, January 26, 10 a.m.—noon
Use seeds and a variety of bird-friendly edibles to create garlands and ornaments that our feathered friends will enjoy on cold winter days. Decorate the Village garden with your creations and take home a few for the birds in your yard. Ages 3–5. $14 members/$27 nonmembers.

The Preschool

The Preschool at A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village offers child-centered activities with nurturing and qualified teachers who cultivate curiosity and the desire to learn. The preschool is designed for ages 3-5 and is housed within Salem's renowned children's museum. Now enrolling! Space available for Tuesday/Thursday class. To find out more, go here.
