Fur, Feathers and Fins: Veterinary Science Day
Saturday, September 11, 1 – 3:30 p.m.
Visit with local veterinarians, learn about vet careers and meet a variety of animals in this drop-in event. Get a sneak peek at “Ready, Vet, Go!”, an upcoming interactive vet clinic exhibit. Help us open the play clinic sooner by making a donation (pennies, nickels and dimes welcome!). Free with admission.

BU$INE$$ KIDS & TEENS Awards Ceremony
Saturday, September 11, 11 a.m. (KIDS) & 1 p.m. (TEENS)
Celebrate success and hear first-hand what the BU$INE$$ KIDS & TEENS learned from their six-week entrepreneurial endeavors. Find out which businesses earned the most for the museum and who will be walking away with one of several cool prizes.

Grandparents Free Day
Sunday, September 12, 12 – 5 p.m.
All grandparents receive free admission to A.C. Gilbert’s Discovery Village with one paid child admission. Get a free 10x13 portrait with your grandchild, courtesy of Picture People.

Community Work Day
Saturday, September 25, 9 a.m. – noon
Help spiff up the Outdoor Discovery Center, built in 1998 in one of the largest community-driven projects in Salem’s history. Relive the tradition by helping to seal and paint the wooden maze, fluffing bark chips and assisting with general cleanup. To sign up, call 503-371-3631.

12th Annual Harvest Festival & Pumpkin Merriment
Saturday, October 16, noon – 8 p.m.
Enjoy a full day of fall festivities at the children’s museum with harvest craft and games, fresh pressed cider, live music and entertainment, a 4-H farm animal petting zoo and much more! The grand lighting of hundreds of carved pumpkins takes place at dusk. Bring a carved pumpkin for discounted admission.$3 members and OMSI members (free with a carved pumpkin) / $9 nonmembers ($6 with a carved pumpkin). Sponsored by Foresters and McDonald Orthodontics.
